i haven’t bought the cabinets yet. i was just wondering if it is possible. i know what i want it to look like but can’t find one like it. so if i could do it myself, i would then pick out the cabinets and so forth.

Sure, you hang the cabinets they way they look nice to you and trim around them to give the built in look.
You sure can, but you’ll probably need to add some parts to make it look and fit right. We need more information about your design idea, what cabinets you have to work with and what tools yo have available.
Why go “THROUGH” all that pain. Go find an IKEA store, they have corner cabinet/hutch available for you already. The real beauty about IKEA, the cabinets are not CUSTOM, so any items break, you can get “REPLACEMENTS” there. You make or have someone make it, your “HOSED” for future replacement.
