Does the cabinet hardware in the kitchen have to be the same finish as the fixures throught the house?
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010We are redoing virtually everything. The cabinets themselves are staying. They are pretty dark. The new appliances will be black. I am worried getting silvery colored cabinet hardware (whether it’s nickel or chrome, brushed or satin…) will stand out in a bad way. But throughout the house, everything else (light fixtures and such) will have a satin nickel finish.
Do the cabinet fixture have to be the silvery color or can I go with something that fits better with the dark cabinets and black appliances?

Do kitchen cabinets come in 17 inch width or will I have to make them?
Sunday, April 4th, 2010I am adding some cabinets to my kitchen along a wall that has dimensions of 84 inches long by 17 inches deep. I want to add more cabinets and a desk area. I want to know if stores like home depot or lowes have these prefab or if I’ll have to make them myself.

Can you paint LAMINATE Kitchen Cabinets?? Can you add hardware too?
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010I want to paint our Laminate cabinets in our new house and possibly add hardware but I’m afraid the laminate might crack from the screws and the paint wont be as durable on suck a slick laminate surface. What can I do?
