I have seen web postings about painting laminate cabinets with a paint technology called “Diamond Hard.” I know there are at least two manufacturers of this type of paint, one of which is “Majic”. It is not available at Lowes, Home Depot or Ace Hardware and my web searches have not helped! I’d like to find a brick and mortar store that carries it versus online so I can see the swatches!

Also one of the desks is dark mahogany and I would like to paint it to a light color. Do I have to use a lot of layers of paint? Is a glossing coat needed for the cabinets and desks?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010We are moving to our 1st home, unfortunately the previous owners PAINTED the wood kitchen cabinets a bright red! The counter tops are a dark (almost black) and we have purchased stainless steel and black appliances. There is an opening in the wall leading to the dining room and the dining room wall is painted burnt orange (which i love). I NEED HELP! what color to repaint the cabinets and what for the kitchen walls? I am have trouble coming up with a kitchen “theme” PS i love reds, purples, oranges together.

what is the correct way to paint bathroom cabinets?
Thursday, January 14th, 2010we are remodeling our bathroom. The countertop is shot but our cabinets are still in great shape. They are not solid wood…they are wood faced. They have been painted once already but I don’t like the color. I am concerned about painting it as I don’t want the paint to scratch or chip off. Any suggestions as to how to assure this will not happen.
