Should my kitchen cabinets go all the way to ceiling?
Friday, March 26th, 2010I have a small kitchen 8ft x 13ft with 9.5ft ceiling in a home built in 1926. I am looking at white wood cabinets with inset doors/drawers and a farm house sink. I like the idea of the bottom wall cabinets to be 36″ and then top them with 18″ cabinets with glass inserts. Finished with crown molding to match the rest of the house. My question is…Since the space is so small should the cabinets go to all the way to ceiling, or would it make it look like a library?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010We are moving to our 1st home, unfortunately the previous owners PAINTED the wood kitchen cabinets a bright red! The counter tops are a dark (almost black) and we have purchased stainless steel and black appliances. There is an opening in the wall leading to the dining room and the dining room wall is painted burnt orange (which i love). I NEED HELP! what color to repaint the cabinets and what for the kitchen walls? I am have trouble coming up with a kitchen “theme” PS i love reds, purples, oranges together.

Is it okay to mix laminate cabinets with wood cabinets?
Thursday, January 14th, 2010I have an eat in kitchen that is stuck in the 1960s, and I never eat in it. So I want to add some more cabinets to bring in some storage. I also want to get rid of my laminate cabinets, but I would only replace the doors. My main question is, how do I get them to match with the wood cabinets I would be putting in?
