I have seen web postings about painting laminate cabinets with a paint technology called “Diamond Hard.” I know there are at least two manufacturers of this type of paint, one of which is “Majic”. It is not available at Lowes, Home Depot or Ace Hardware and my web searches have not helped! I’d like to find a brick and mortar store that carries it versus online so I can see the swatches!
Thanks!
Rachel

Hi Rachel, in order for any kind of paint to adhere to a laminate you will need to pre-prime the surfaces with an epoxy primer which is available at Sherwin Williams and other Brand name paint stores. Upon completing the priming you can then use normal alkyd based paints that can be tinted any color u choose. The primer is the key to the final paint coats adhering to laminated surfaces. Talk to the proffesionals at Brand name paint stores. They are very knowledgeable (most of the time) and happy to help. I understand about the “diamond hard” but am betting that you will still need to prime with an epoxy primer or equal. Hope this helps.
